"Ferry Me Over" by Ed Miller

What can I say about Ed Miller. I adore his work. Ed is a a native of Edinburgh, Scotland who now lives in Austin, Texas. He is a product of the 1960s folk revival in Scotland and moved to the United States in 1968 to complete his graduate work in Geography, and later Folklore, at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also the host of a folk music program on Austin's public radio station, KUT-FM.

Ed millerEd Miller has had a profound on my musical career. I first met him at a Scottish gathering in Austin, Texas. It must've been my second year performing Celtic music. He was a stunning performer, and focusing on the songs of Scotland, he inspired me to start studying the music of my own Clan Gunn heritage.

Now we're working on our Scots CD, "Real Men Wear Kilts," but I honestly can't see how it could compare to the strong confident songs of Ed Miller. He's a brilliant storyteller and a majestic singer. I hope one day I'll be half the musician of Ed Miller.

"Day After Day" by Tears for Beers

The various musical preferences of the musicians add themselves in Tears For Beers to an overall view that permits loans from country music, bluegrass, hillbilly or reggae apart from traditional Irish and Scottish folk and also grooving rock music. That developes an individual non-standard music style that Tears For Beers self-conscious call "Folk'n'Roll".

Teada's characteristic lively blend of instrumentals and vocals in the traditional Irish idiom has seen the band evolve into the busiest touring act in the traditional music scene in recent times.

"Moving Air" by Enam

Enam's music appears to be a mixture of Celtic, New Age, African, and even Medieval influences... By using multi-layer techniques, he was able to play all the instruments and sing all the voices. Some of his mesmerizing compositions do not have traditional lyrics as such, but they contain combinations of pronounced and sung sounds that invite the listener on an otherworldly journey.
